Dream from May 30

The controlled demolition of 7 Walmer turned into a nightmare. Many of the spectators too close, lost life and limb to the falling bricks.

Safely from above, my family and I watch the old brown building succumb to explosions and a hollowed out garage. The crowd that came to watch were now in danger. Some we killed by the falling bricks and glass, many were injured. A man lost his leg, another man screamed to put pressure on the victims neck to make the bleeding stop. I knew that was wrong, but was removed from the situation and felt no urge to correct him.

Days later, bricks were brought into our house that floated in the clouds. Outside my bedroom many were slanted and stacked vertically into very narrow steps up the wall and through the ceiling. I decided to re-stack them of fear they would fall on me like they did the spectators below.

Hot Jupiters

The Kepler mission continues...

In a sample study of 63 hot Jupiter systems, planetary systems with Jupiter-size planet candidates in three day orbits, researchers found no evidence of small, companion candidates. The finding suggests that small candidates were ejected from the system, leaving large planets to later circularize into tight orbits. cc: nasa

Neutron stars

Neutron stars crush half a million times more mass than Earth into a sphere no larger than Brooklyn.

Dream from May 11

Beyoncé and I had reconciled after much time apart. She was back in Toronto with her mother, I was introduced on the street. "Nice to meet you Mrs. Knowles." I said eagerly. "How does it feel to be back in town?"

We walked down Queens Quay in the haze of an early summer evening, Beyoncé had new shoes to work in.

"Are you the only one for her?" Beyoncé's mother asked me.
"I don't think she's anyone's, except maybe Jay's." I replied.

Stunned by the CN Tower floating in the lake across from us, I stopped for a moment to look up almost falling backwards, then ran to catch up women.

At another corner, three others dressed oddly with neon lights in their shoes and jackets watched us approach. We knew they were going to judge us, and we were going to judge them. I stood up straight, Mrs. Knowles and I walked by. One of the oddly dressed people mentioned I would enjoy the wine I had, which I forgot was in the brown paper bag I was carrying.

We turned the corner and realized Beyoncé was lagging behind.

Going back, we saw her sitting on the sidewalk, she had taken off her heels.
"My feet hurt." She said. Mrs. Knowles gave her one stern look and Beyoncé quickly put the shoes on.

We turned back to the hotel, and I talked her up, reminding her of all her amazing performances in such great high heels.

"...and Single Ladies. I remember exactly where I was the first time I saw that video. Your legs hypnotized me, and my god, those heels!" I exclaimed. "I wish I could wear those heels!!"

Later, in my hotel room I was talking with E.J. about how much I missed my friends. I asked him why the ones I missed so much had to live so far away. I floated above Canada as story time ensued. I began to tell the boss I respected about the best friends I rarely saw, living on either side of the country. Brent and Matt.

Dream from May 9

Flying above Tehran, Canada declared war on Iran and started bombing their cities from space. Working with the US, Canadian forces were on the offensive and delivered the first strike.

The news was passive about the situation, this had happened before and no doubt would happen again. They offered us first person perspectives of the bombers in space, launching missiles and bombs on the cities below. It had the quality of a cartoon the sight was so familiar.

Later, in the elevator at work, most were talking about the conflict. I turned to Jenn Bell and at the same time we said "I love what you're wearing, you have great style."

World on a Wire

‎"I have nothing now but praise for my life. I'm not unhappy. I cry a lot because I miss people. They die and I can't stop them. They leave me and I love them more. ... What I dread is the isolation. ... There are so many beautiful things in the world which I will have to leave when I die, but I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready."

Dream from May 1

Justin and I went to Vegas with a group of people from work. He had a secret that I needed to know.

When we arrived, before we checked into our hotel, our group had to make its way through the poorly lit, maze-like subterranean lobby. Each space offered trinkets for sale, food, and other entertainment. In one chamber our colleague Vanessa introduced us to her sister who worked there, and I was very excited to meet an east coaster in the desert though she didn't see the connection.

Finally, near the end of our journey, I began to understand what Justin was hiding. He was married, to two very angry women who were part of our group. They were both in possession of him, and if he tried to escape, they would have him killed.

When we walked up the stairs to the check-in, Justin told me his secret. He was gay. Then his evil wives came through a door and simultaneously vaporized me with their gaze.

Dream from April 30

My mom was driving, before dawn. I was the passenger and we were in my Toronto neighbourhood. She pulled over and I went into a convenience store. I purchased two no name brand beers.

Later, we picked up my sister and the dog. My sister drove and I was in the back seat. We were near the ocean, heading to the beach. We were driving on the water, floating along the ripples heading to Saint Martins. The waves became larger, and water fell onto us from an overpass. My sister kept driving, quite frantically, until the waves became taller than us. They smashed against the windshield so I told her to turn back. We would go to the cove instead, but I couldn't remember what it was called.
